आज फिर

आज फिर से धूप चढ़ आई है छत पर मेरी
हसरतों को रौशनी से है छुपाया आज फिर

कमजोर हाथों की लकीरें हैं, मगर मिटती नहीं
कह कर यही दिल को है बहलाया आज फिर

और कुछ खोया या पाया, क्या पता? हूँ बेखबर
जिंदगी से एक दिन हमने गंवाया आज फिर

मलमल के आँचल से अपने, सूर्य की की किरनों को ढपना
मेघ जो बरसो कहीं भी, आठों पहर तुम बरसना

खनक गर्जन में हँसी की, बिजली सी मुस्कान लिए
सुकोमल पैरों से छत पे, टप टप की थाप दिए

हो व्यथित ना ह्रदय कोई, तन मन में उल्लास भरना
मेघ जो बरसो कहीं भी, आठों पहर तुम बरसना

खुशबुओं में ओत प्रोत, खुलें जल के सभी स्रोत
रितु भीगी आतुर नयन हों, मिलन को व्याकुल युगल हों

द्रवित मन की खिड़कियों में, प्रेमिका का रूप धरना
मेघ जो बरसो कहीं भी, आठों पहर तुम बरसना

रात्रि के दूजे पहर में, दबे पाँव चल डगर में
दूब गीली को जगाकर, पूछ लेना लह लहाकर

सुन सहेली मैं हूँ आई, हाथ मेहँदी से है रचना
मेघ जो बरसो कहीं भी, आठों पहर तुम बरसना

सूर्य की पहली किरन, जब चूम लेती हो धरा को
अलसाई सी धूप देकर, विदा होना पड़े तुमको

जाते जाते फिर सजाना, इन्द्रधनुषी इस गगन को
ओस की हर बूंद पे तुम, नाम अपना छोड़ रखना

मेघ जो बरसो कहीं भी, आठों पहर तुम बरसना

हम दीवानों की क्या हस्ती

I liked this poem very much. I have used Google Indic Transliteration to type it in Devnagari. Please point out, if I have made any mistakes in spelling or otherwise.

हम दीवानों की क्या हस्ती, आज यहाँ कल वहाँ चले
मस्ती का आलम साथ चला, हम धूल उड़ाते जहाँ चले

आए बनकर उल्लास कभी, आँसू बनकर बह चले अभी
सब कहते ही रह गए, अरे तुम कैसे आए, कहाँ चले

किस ओर चले? मत ये पूछो, बस चलना है इसलिए चले
जग से उसका कुछ लिए चले, जग को अपना कुछ दिए चले

दो बात कहीं, दो बात सुनी, कुछ हँसे और फिर कुछ रोए
छक कर सुख दुःख के घूँटों को, हम एक भाव से पिए चले

हम भिखमंगों की दुनिया में, स्वछन्द लुटाकर प्यार चले
हम एक निशानी उर पर, ले असफलता का भार चले

हम मान रहित, अपमान रहित, जी भर कर खुलकर खेल चुके

A couple of movies

Chak De India

One of the better sport movies. Hollywood might have a long history of sport movie, this is one with truly Indian flavor. It is full of things we can easily identify with. After a long time I have seen a movie where crowd was actually being part of the game..whistling and shouting. Chak de has good and fast paced script. There are hardly any loose ends. I liked everything about the movie accept the name, which apparently has no direct relation with the storyline. It seems it was more of a commercial rather than a creative decision.

The Blue Umbrella

Vishal Bharadwaj’s ventures into a completely new world. A world isolated from urban settings. Life in a small village is depicted beautifully. It is very easy to identify with a story like that. Pankaj Kapoor has shown his class again. Child artists have done a great job. Movie has nothing incomplete as far as performances and direction goes. Inherent human tendencies, subtle humor and acts of kindness are well sketched. Background score and cinematography is beautifully done. This is a simple story well told.

हिन्दी आसानी से लिख पाना मेरे जैसे लोगों के लिए किसी वरदान से कम नहीं. आशा करता हूँ कि अब मैं हिन्दी में पहले से ज्यादा लिखूंगा. कवितायें, जो मैं पहले रोमन में टाईप किया करता था, सीधे देवनागरी में लिख पाऊंगा.

इन्टरनेट पर हिन्दी के प्रसार के लिए ये अत्यन्त ही सराहनीय कदम है. स्वयं इसे आजमा कर देखिये, आप भी इस अद्भुत अविष्कार से प्रभावित हुए बिना नहीं रह पायेंगे.

Quite contrary to it´s title, this film is not about sex. It is about urban society and crumbling relationships.

The theme
People who feel or look healthy are suffering from serious problems around you. What one need is love and affection. This is quite an American theme. In Indian setting, it´ll not prove to be a convincing story but there are various noticeable things coming out of the film which transcendent culture.

Wonderful treatment
Characters reveal themselves and you feel closer to them in some sort of way. Psychological state of a person is handled very well in the film. Strength of this movie lies in the realistic depiction and convincing characters. Performance by James Spader was remarkable.

Strong statement on relationships
This movie talks about the degrading family values in urban society. It is about- How something as insignificant as sibling rivalry can lead people´s lives to absolute nightmare? How do we create and define good and bad for ourselves? How cocoons made by a person for safety, can eventually make one feel claustrophobic?

This is something, we can call ¨meaningful cinema¨, reminded me of American Beauty!
